2020 was a year that brought many changes for the industries and therefore they had to reinvent themselves and create new strategies in many areas.

Therefore, in 2021, the countries of the world must address human and technical challenges to ensure a better quality of life. Many of these challenges will inspire architecture trends for years to come.

Here are the 4 most relevant trends:

1. Smart homes:

Technology has advanced by leaps and bounds and with it also the automation in homes, all this gives us the ease of controlling the temperature, lights and the security system of our house from the mobile phone and gives us greater comfort and lower energy consumption. This also translates into lower financial costs.

2. Energy saving:

The objective of this is to save energy by making the most of the environment. With them we can take advantage of some resources such as:

• Location of the house, so that it receives maximum sunlight.
• The strategic location of bathrooms and sunlight entrances, to have an illuminated home with the least use of electricity.
• Incorporation of landscaping to shade the facade in hot weather and the passage of sunlight in winter.

3. Kitchen and bathroom as main elements of the home:

The kitchen is one of the busiest places in the home. Now the trend is to connect it with other rooms such as the living room or dining room and increase its size, the open kitchen and the inclusion of islands that serve as breakfast bars.

And the bathroom is also a place for grooming and personal care and also a place of relaxation. that is why the use of materials such as marble or quartz have become protagonists. The design and layout of the bathroom is also important. An easy way to create a good atmosphere can be to adopt a floral motif in the paint and tiles, add indoor plants, a sauna room, a hydro massage tub or shower.

4. Highlight the exterior of the home:

A fundamental need now that work at home has increased is natural light in the home, thereby seeking the least use of electricity. This is accomplished by building larger windows. New trends seek a feeling of comfort with the union of technology with the environment.
